Classroom to Table Urban Agriculture Initiative

Classroom-To-Table is an ESTEAM program where students interface directly with working professionals in the effort to devise a healthy eating ecosystem of ultra-locally grown produce for the creation of nutritious meals for the community. Designed to eliminate urban food deserts and develop student businesses.

In-person and virtual instructional blend with an ideal set up for teaching the basics of healthy eating, urban farming, culinary and entrepreneurship progressive curriculum components.

The Classroom to Table Urban Agriculture Program is an educational initiative working with 10 educational programs in Humboldt Park. Using hydroponic towers students learn about sustainable farming practices, local food production and healthy eating. The program often covers topics like plant biology, food security, environmental sustainability, and the social aspects of food systems. Every May, the participating schools and programs showcase their work and harvest at a year-end culminating event.
