Jose Pagan

East Humboldt Park “Community As A Campus Sports Coordinator” .
Oversee the coordination and implementation of a year-long sports program offering 12 events for middle school boys and girls. As CAAC Sports Coordinator. Mr. Pagan, coordinates all events including Basketball and Girls Volleyball tournaments with CAAC Schools.
Mr. Pagan is currently Athletic Director and student support at Moos Elementary for the last 6 years. 5 Year CPS Scores Head Coach.

Served 4 years as Student Mentor of the Mayor Mentoring Program. Currently a Friends Of Moos and LSC School Member.

Juanita Garcia

Juanita has served as an educator in Humboldt Park for 15 years. As the digital literacy coordinator and through group classes and one-on-one support, she leads programming in Microsoft and Google applications, email set-up, online employment searches, and is responsive to individual digital literacy needs. Juanita loves gardening and is a proud mother of a Clemente Wildcat.

Marvin Garcia

Marvin Garcia is the East Humboldt Park “Community as a Campus” Chair. His duties include support to 16 school administrators and collaborations with nonprofits and institutional partners to provide wrap around services to the children and families attending “Community as a Campus” member schools. Served 13 years as the director of the professional development arm of the Alternative Schools Network of Chicago and 17 years as the director of the Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos High School. He is a Board of Trustee member at Northeastern Illinois University and holds two master’s degrees in Adult Education and Educational Leadership through National-Louis University and Northeastern Illinois University. A resident of Humboldt Park since 1974.

Monica Lozada

My name is Monica Lozada and I am the Community Engagement Specialist for Humboldt Park Community as a Campus Education Initiative . I started off with the Puerto Rican Cultural Center five years ago as a home safety checker for a Chicago public school. Now I work to assist Cps families in 17 different schools as well as community members with resources they may need.
